Toledo is a Los Angeles based design studio led by Lauren Lubell and Patrick Keville.
As traditionally trained industrial designers, we work across furniture, lighting, cookware, fashion accessories, spatial design, packaging, and product development. Our work begins with how something is made, its form, material, and process, and is guided by a clear point of view.
The Toledo universe began with our jewelry brand, where we design, produce, market, and sell our work globally. This foundation continues to inform the studio, as we develop products and collaborate with both local and international manufacturers to bring objects into the world.
Our brand, along with both individually each having more than a decade of experience within corporate environments, while working with outside clients, the expectations of high level delivery informs how we approach every project. We understand not only how to design, but how to carry an idea from concept through production to its final presence in the market.
We work across disciplines, moving between objects, environments, and visual direction, including product design, retail and hospitality concepts, packaging, and creative direction. Across each project, the focus is on bringing clarity, structure, and presence to what is being made.
Our approach is precise and iterative. We refine, adjust, and resolve until the work feels complete, balancing function with expression, and discipline with intuition.

Toledo is rooted in understanding the client. We look closely at what they are trying to achieve, what they value, and where they want to go.
We are less interested in reacting to trends or surface level input, and are more focused on making work that holds up over time. The goal is not just to be current, but to feel considered, relevant, and lasting.
From this position, Toledo brings a clear design perspective to interpret those needs and shape the end result into something that is resolved and cohesive.
Our role is to meet the client where they are and carry the work further, toward an outcome that feels natural and complete.
Like giving the right gift, it is not about surprise for its own sake, but about recognition. Something that fits, and feels inherently aligned.
-
Toledo works across the full span of a project, from initial concept through to final production; we engage at any stage. Whether shaping an idea early on or refining work already in progress, we pay focus to the direction that is needed.
Our role is to bring structure to the process and clarity to the outcome. This can take the form of developing products, defining identity, or directing how something is seen and experienced. Each engagement is handled with precision, with close attention to proportion, material, and presence.
Our clients feel like they can sit back and relax as we make decisions carefully and move the work forward with intent, carrying it toward a resolved and cohesive end stateThe result is work that feels deliberate, unified, and complete.

Toledo is led by designers. Our work is grounded in industrial design, with the realities of making, form, material, and proportion in-mind, always.
We are not generalists or business consultants. We approach each project as designers, bringing a trained eye and a practiced hand to every decision, from concept through production.
Our work balances precision with imagination. It is as practical as it is expressive, built to function, but also to carry presence and meaning.
We move fluidly between disciplines, but the approach remains consistent: a serious commitment to design as a craft.
The result is work that is both considered and complete. Products, objects and environments that hold up visually, physically, and over time.
